Pavel Albores (MIET) is a Senior Lecturer in Operations Management in the Operations and Information Management Group at Aston Business School (ABS) and co-director of the Centre for Research into Safety and Security (CRISIS) at ABS. He received his PhD on Simulation of e-business processes from Strathclyde University, where he also gained an MSc in Manufacturing Management. His first degree is in Chemical Engineering. Pavel’s major research interests revolve around the fields of simulation, supply chain management, emergency management and humanitarian logistics.
Pavel has worked with leading governmental organisations in the field of preparedness in nine countries as co-investigator in an EC-funded project (Evacuation Responsiveness for Government Organisations (ERGO). He has participated in research projects in the areas of knowledge management in extended enterprises and supply chain management. He has acted as consultant in the area of modelling and simulation with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) -Fire Service directorate-, Highland Spring, Daks Group. He previously worked for Xerox. Pavel was a member of the EPSRC Manufacturing Futures Network.
