WJ Sutton
WJ Sutton Case Study: Description:

Cost saving £1,000  per year, Energy Saving 7 tonnes Carbon saving per year

Opportunity:
WJ Sutton Ltd owns and operates out of a small 1980’s office block. Part of the office block being leased to other businesses. As the gas boiler and heating system was over 30 years old it was inefficient and suffering from increasing maintenance costs.

Kenneth Sutton had little experience on undertaking a capital project of this magnitude. The Low Carbon SME project provided guidance on energy efficient boiler systems and good procurement process to obtain best value for money. Obtaining the third quote was difficult but proved to be the quote offering the best value for money.

Kenneth was keen to upgrade the heating system to reduce energy costs and ensure a reliable heating solution.

Outcomes:

  • Installed an ‘A’ rated boiler as listed on the UK governments Energy Technology List
  • Weather compensation included in boiler controls
  • Internal radiators fitted with Thermostatic Radiator Valves

Kenneth said, ‘we have been very pleased at the assistance that John and the Low Carbon Project has given us in reducing the impact on the environment and reducing our cost base’.
